A li'l way off

The post is my random strolling on profound topics (spirituality).

Got inspiration for this post while listening to 'Bhaja Govindham' song. This immortal song was written by Adi Sankaracharya. MS Subbulakshmi, the queen of music, poured life into the song with her golden voice. If you like carnatic music, you can listen to the song here. You may need to register in the site to listen to the song. If you appreciate philosophy in lyrics, you can take a look at the English translation of Sanskrit lyrics here. Direct link for song is here

Have you ever wondered why did we born in this country?
For long time, India has been ridiculed as land of snake charmers, sadhus and sanniyasis. Contrastly, it is a land of deeper spiritual thoughts. The spiritual knowledge of an average Indian is always astonishing. Hinduism is way of life here. Buddhism has its roots here. Zen took out its branch from south India. The way of living without harming others is preached as Jainism in this land. Ahimsa is proven as way to fight against oppression. I am proud for being an Indian and living in India.

Li'l idea on a relaxing vacation
Imagine spending few days with loved ones in a house situated at top of a mountain, surrounded by deep green forests. The place is filled with chirping sounds of birds. The garden of the house has a small pond bordered by lush green plants and colorful flowers. Squirrels play merrily with fruits in the garden. The melodious music and golden voice of MSS Amma fills the air in that place. Wow. Isn't it look like a preview to an eternal bliss

I am too young for a deep introspection. But at times I am baffled with questions like 'Who am i?', 'what's purpose of my life?' .... And felt empty while performing regular rituals and worships in temples. Never heed to humbug spiritual talks. I am atheist at times, agnostic and iconoclastic in arguments. Yet I found few places which give an eternal bliss. The song 'bhaja govindam' is also about spiritual search, explained in layman terms by Adisankarcharya. He is a paramatma, his word and thougts has to be true.

A Vagabond strolls on - 2

Drizzling rain and long stretch of roads are always biker's paradise. I am still hooked on to biking because of few occasions like this. I was on bike with my friend on saturday evening to visit a new apartment of another guy in such a pleasant climate. My new bike shows its mighty in high speeds and we were zipping past all heavy vehicles in the outer ring road.

Tummyful- Few more restaurants discovered ;)
Aangan in Koramangala - Asli punjabi khana. Food quality is good and the hotel ambience is also great
Sharma in Koramangala - Great quality food at damn cheap rates. I love this
Parika in CMH Road - a decent multicuisine restaurant with as usual sky high bills. Mangalorean dishes are surprise addendum in their menu. Dunno whether this is best hotel for mangalorean foods, but liked it!

Song for the day. This one is from movie parineetha, 'Piyu bole, Piya bole'. Again one more smashing hit in Sonu and Shreya combination. Have a lovely time with the song (English subtitles are also there in the video for non-hindi speaking people)

Solla Maranthuten!
Saw Valavan movie last weekend. It wasn't a great entertainer. And as promised I am not writing a spoiler review for it. I liked the first half of the movie. It was more casual and the story plot is about love as seen by this generation guys. Engeyo sontha kathai pakkirey mathiri oru feeling!! ;) Balakumaran's touch was seen in dialogues only at few scenes. Santhanam and gang done their comedy role neatly. Yuvan's songs are the real face saver. Editor could have played a little more proactive role in second half of the movie and could have reduced its length.

A vagabond strolls on!

Today is my best friend's marriage. His is love marriage, as usual opposed by parents. But married his lover girl today in Alaipayuthey style 'Mangalayam thanthu nanena Navajeeva....' . He is my friend, philopsher and guide for my love from the day one. A big storm may come when they convey their marriage info in their home. Hope dust settles soon and the couple starts living together peacefully.
Best wishes and congrats for the lovely couple!

I am listening to this lovely song 'Pal Pal Pal' from Lage Raho Munnabhai. The song is about dilemma in the mind of the hero for telling a lie to win his girl's heart. He wants to convey that to his girl in a letter, but he fears about losing her. The girl doesn't know this fact, thinks the guy is writing a love letter to her. The lyrics and situation added more color to this song. The magical voice belongs to Sonu and Shreya.

Have you ever wondered the power of smell? Mysterious power of smell hijacks you to a different world altogether, it gives you a different feeling from normal state of life.... Few in that list
The 'man vasanai', the smell of sand which arise with first drops of rain
The green bug smell, which fills your nostril when you criss cross into their nature and world
The distinct dettol smell, which strikes you when you enter an hospital
The smell of your girl ;) Lemme play it safe here, this is hear say, inspired from the song 'Selai kattum pennukoru vasam unda?'

I am welcoming this weekend with 'Valavan' movie. Waiting to catch up with friends for the late night show of this movie tonight. I got a mixed review for this movie till now. Wait to hear from me. If movie is bad, I promise you that I wont write a spoiler review for sure ;) This whiz-kid simbhu's growth is amazing in tamil tinseldom. Hope he gives out one more good entertainer. Wish you all a happy weekend too!

Kal Ho Na Ho

Love has not made me a poet! But gave me a heart to appreciate poetic lyrics.  Put on your headphones and listen to this song. I bet you will fly in different world altogether.
Here is english translation of lyrics of the song 'Kal Ho Na Ho'.

Life changes it's beauty all the time
Sometimes it's a shade, sometimes life is sunlight
Live every moment hear to your heart's content
The time that is here may not be tomorrow

One who loves you whole-heartedly
It is difficult to meet that person
If there is someone like that somewhere
That person is more beautiful than all
Grab onto that (person's) hand
He or she may not be so gracious tomorrow
Live every moment here to your heart's content
The time that is here may not be tomorrow

Taking the shadow of your eyelashes, when someone comes near
You try to reason with your crazy heart
Your heart just goes on beating
But think, that which is here now
That story may not be here tomorrow
Life changes its beauty all the time
Sometimes it's a shade, sometimes life is sunlight
Live every moment here to your heart's content
The time that is here may not be tomorrow
The time that is here may not be tomorrow

Hona Hain Tujhmein Fanaa

If the moon was to recommend me
This is what it would say to you
I want to drop the veil of decency
I want to cross the line with you
I insist on destroying myself
On destroying myself in you

If i tell you my true intentions
I am sure they will make you blush
If I make you hear my heartbeats
I am sure they will leave you flushed
But i can't hide my true feelings
For I must destroy myself in you

Lost your heart? I mean, did you fall in love with this song? Which attracted you the most?
Shaan's magical voice
Poetic Lyrics
Onscreen chemistry between Aamir and Kajol
Music

House born in mind

I was thinking about the apartment that I would like to buy. It was a sleepy afternoon in home. My niece wanted me to sit with her, when she was enjoying teletubbies show. Was getting bored, I tried hard to concentrate and drew the apartment that I would like to buy. I am not a civil engineer to worry about the measurements, beam location, columns width... But the thought of home design is very interesting. I took an hour to put that imagination and dream into a piece of paper. Today I translated that paper drawing to computer using a freeware. The drawing is devoid of many details, but it is rough sketch of my expectations. My cousin is a flat promoter. Believe, he is going to have a tough time with me in building my apartment. :)

Diwali Gala

Diwali gives us an occasion for family get-together. I love diwali for this reason. Crackers, sweets, visiting temple, new movies, big TV shows... can come next in priorities for diwali. When I landed back in office today morning, all friends greeted with same question "How did you diwali go?". I enjoyed and relaxed in this vacation. When my granny was there, diwali vacation used to pull in all family members. The time spent with cousins are best part of my childhood memories.

Chinna vayasu terrorists dialogues: ;)
Me: "Ippadiya iruntha evalo nalla irukkum! mmmm.....next week school will reopen...bore, bore! "
My cousin: "dont worry da, Iraq-ila Bush podara bomb onnu kooda target mari namma school-ila vizhamala poiyudum??!! :)"
Me: "Wow. appadi vizhuntha romba santhosam. Jolly"

On sunday, my brother was planning for a trip to sirkazhi (20 kms from my homeotown). He had to catch up with anni's side relatives it seems. He usually get bored in those visits, so he needed some company. He was calling me pasama "Satheesh, nangala ellam mama vitikku porum, neeiyum variyada?". I was not aware of his grand plans, so said yes. I had to get out of my comfortable couch for the trip (missed sleeping!). First we went to my mama's house, then to anni's relative place and then to anna's friends house. Visiting relatives during diwali can become a dangerous experiment at times, everybody will welcome you with lot of sweets. Everywhere I have to say 'hi' and chat with lot of unknown people. These chats are usual boring stuffs which turn me off in few minutes. Thank god, my niece was keeping me engaged throughout the evening. While coming back, I was polambfying with anna. "Ada, paavi, neethan kalyana pannikitu ella relatives vittikum porey, ponnum. Enna ethukada matti vittae.. :) " Anni was laughing all the while. I missed outing with friends on that day because of this trip.

My love story didn't get any importance during this visit. Nobody was talking about the past incidents now in house. So sad :( Dad started it in mid, but left it out saying "Unnaku unga ammaku thane problem. Solve it yourself. Nee love pannina ponnai unga amma thane parkalamey reject pannita. What to do?" Amma didn't open up this topic and all. I have no grudges on them for not speaking about my love. I ,myself, don't know the state of my love, then how on the world I can expect them to talk for me? Seri, seri, romba polambals vendom! :) Hope you guys had great diwali too.

I have few photos to share.

diwali galatta

I am in mid of diwali vacation with family. Hope you guys had fun filled diwali too. Vacation in home looks at times boring, too long to pass off. Thankfully it's time for family get-together and catching up time for lot of my school time buddies.

I was seeing 'Silinu oru kathal' movie with family yesterday. My expectation from the movie was nill, because of lot of spoiler reviews. Movie minus last 30 minutes is a real entertainer. The scenes between surya, Jo and their kid are too good to cause jealous within any married couple. Love after marriage is dealt beautifully in the story. In one scene, surya in a high state

Surya: "Nee ennai nalla santhoshma vachirikey. Are you happy with me?"
Jo:      "Naa enga ammakitey irunthathey vida, enga appakitey irundhatha vida, ungoda romba santhosama     iruken da"

Wow. Those words conveys proper answer to man's expectation in love. Every man wants to keep his girl happy and satisfied throughout his life. If his girl is happy, that makes him the happiest man in the world. The past story of surya isn't anything new. Can't avoid getting Deja Vu feeling in most of stuffs in college time love story. But you can't avoid it, as kollywood story tellers has done enough research before in love stories :)

Now time for spoiler review. Me and my friends landed in 100th movie of sarath. 'Thalaimagan'. On diwali day evening, after our usual chit-chat, we needed some movie to relax down. Unfortunately we were forced to this cinema, because other movies had enough audiences to fill in the hall. I know most of you will skip this movie, but writing a spoiler review now to save you, if you get a faint notion to watch this movie.
Hero as press reporter, Heroine as co-worker, Mineral water factory, hot dialogues, baddie lady police cop, one more politician villain, comeon, you can write this story yourself after this. Vadivelu tries his best to keep the audience alive for few lighter moments, couldn't do much. We should have run away from the cinema after first introduction song of hero, that is sung by sarath himself ;) But we were out of movie hall after the second song. Ohh man, I could not even think about anything interesting in the movie. Rating is highly avoidable.

You are not that bad!

People who believe in first impressions don't like me much. As an inane introvert, I don't go and speak with some strangers. I call it the reserved attitude, but people call it arrogancy. Once my friend told me "When I saw you for the first time, I thought you are a guy with lot of thimiru (arrogancy); who wants to talk to you?". This is the honest feedback on my first impression. Nothing got changed till now. It still remain same but for people who follow my blog. Now I am getting feedbacks as a guy with some sensible thoughts too ;

Three months ago, when I spoke about my love to my girl, she wanted me to meet her sister and brother-in-law. That meeting idea made me more conscious. You got to market yourself in those situations, which I had never done before. Frankly, I don't believe in my look or my first impression. Baffling situation gave me some confidence also. I said to myself "You are not going to lose anything. If meeting goes positive, you may end up with two more friends. So cool and be yourself".

Me:  "Hey, how good you akka and athimber are?"
She: "They are very nice people, you will enjoy the dinner with them"
Me:  "Ohh, that good to hear, I want to give them a good first impression. What's gonna be your dress for the evening?"
She: "Why?"
Me:  "Thought we could wear some dress which will make us look like made-for-each-other pair"
She: "Comeon....let's not pretend ok? We are. We will be ourself"

Later we meet them in the restaurant. They are indeed nice couple, found myself comfortable in speaking to them. We, techies, share a common thread which can weave us in one society. We had lot of common topics to chat about. And I was in my high spirits that day. Besides, their friendly attitude made me feel at home. After hours of chat, we left for the day. I pinged my girl in the next day morning to know about my feedback.
She: "You are not that bad da! They liked you. You got some sensible thoughts also in your head"
Me : "Thank god. You made my day"
